Review hails new Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG

February 4th, 2011
The new Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG has been hailed as the "hottest" of the C-Class models.

Writing for Evo Magazine, Stephen Dobie said that the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG has had an overhaul after four years on sale.

However, it is not an all-new model as the 6.2-litre V8 engine remains under the front bonnet.

"The C 63 does get a new gearbox, though, the twin-clutch seven-speed MCT from the Mercedes SLS AMG supercar providing snappy 100 millisecond gearshifts and a Race Start function as well as lower emissions and improved fuel economy," Mr Dobie noted.

He added that other dynamic tweaks include revised suspension and a tweaked power steering set up, which is designed to reduce fuel consumption by "only using up energy when inputs are actually being made".

The new Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG is set to make its public debut at the
2011 Geneva motor show in March.
